A poem says:
The noble footsteps at Shouyang became a cardinal rule,set up for a thousand autumns as a guard against rebellion;a few words called the world back from its dream,one life made a model, shining in death as in life.
求仁自是求仁得，義士還從義士揚。讀罷史文猶自淚，空留齒頰有餘香。
求仁自是求仁得，义士还从义士扬。读罢史文犹自泪，空留齿颊有余香。
Seeking humaneness, they found humaneness;righteous men are still exalted by the righteous.I finish reading the history and still I weep;on my lips and teeth it leaves only a lingering fragrance.
話說清虛道德真君見黃天化來問前程歸著，欲說出所以，恐他不服；欲不說明自，又恐他誤遭陷害。真君沒奈何，只得將前去機關作一偈，聽憑天命。真君作偈曰：

Now, when the True Lord Qingxu Daode saw Huang Tianhua come to ask about his future and how it would end, he wanted to tell him the whole of it, but feared the boy would not accept it; yet if he did not make it plain, he feared Tianhua would walk into a trap. The True Lord had no choice but to put the hidden workings of what lay ahead into a gatha and leave the rest to Heaven’s will. The True Lord made the gatha:
