幽魂旛下夜猿啼，壯士紛紛急鼓鼙。黑霧瀰漫人魄散，妖氛籠罩將星低。只知戰勝歌刁斗，不認奸邪悔噬臍。屈死英雄遭血刃，至今城下草萋萋。

A poem says:
Beneath the Banner of Lost Souls the apes cry in the night;brave men in their crowds beat the war drums fast.Black fog spreads and men’s souls scatter;a demonic air hangs low and the generals’ stars sink.They knew only to sing of victory by the watch-pots,and would not see the evil, nor rue it till too late to bite their navels.Heroes wrongly slain fell to the bloody blade;below the walls, to this day, the grass grows rank and green.
話說通天教主率領眾仙至陣前，老子曰：「今日與你決定雌雄，萬仙遭難。正應你反覆不定之罪。」通天教主怒曰：「你四人看我今番怎生作用！」遂催開奎牛，執劍砍來。老子笑曰：「料你今日作用也只如此！只你難免此厄也！」催開青牛，舉起扁拐，急架忙迎。元始天尊對左右門人曰：「今日你等俱滿此戒，須當齊入陣中，以會截教萬仙，不得錯過。」眾門人聽此言，不覺歡笑，吶一聲喊，齊殺入萬仙陣中。正是：

Now, Tongtian, the Sect Master, led his immortals to the front of the formation. Laozi said, “Today you and I settle which of us is the stronger, and the ten thousand immortals meet their doom. It is the just reward for your fickleness.” Tongtian, the Sect Master, said angrily, “You four — watch what I do this time!” He urged on his kui ox and came at them, sword raised. Laozi laughed and said, “I expect all you can do today comes to no more than this! And you yourself will not escape this ordeal!” He urged on his blue ox, raised his flat staff and parried in haste. The Heavenly Venerable Yuanshi said to the disciples at his side, “Today every one of you will bring this calamity to its end. You must all go into the formation together and meet the ten thousand immortals of the Interception Sect. Do not let the chance slip.” When the disciples heard this, they could not help laughing for joy; they raised a shout with one voice and charged together into the Formation of Ten Thousand Immortals. Truly:
萬仙陣上施玄妙，都向其中了劫麈。
万仙阵上施玄妙，都向其中了劫麈。
In the Formation of Ten Thousand Immortals they work their mysteries,and every one of them there ends the dust of calamity.
