A poem says:
Little by little the handle of the Dipper turns east again;in vain does Dou Rong flaunt his heroic spirit.Jinzha lays a clever plan to open the Zhou’s great work;the Earth-Piercing Lady, full of schemes, toys at her woman’s needlework.
總為浮雲遮曉日，故教殺氣鎖崆峒。須知王霸終歸主，枉使生靈泣路窮。

It is all because drifting clouds veil the morning sunthat the air of slaughter is made to lock in Kongtong.Know that the kingly and the mighty come at last to their true master;in vain are living souls made to weep at the end of the road.
話說袁洪上了「山河社稷圖」，如四象變化有無窮之妙，思山即山，思水即水，想前即前，想後即後，袁洪不覺現了原身。忽然見一陣香風撲鼻，異樣甜美，這猴兒爬上樹去一望，見一株桃樹，綠葉森森，兩邊搖蕩，下墜一枝紅滴滴的仙桃，顏色鮮潤，嬌嫩可愛。白猿看見，不覺忻羨，遂攀枝穿葉，摘取仙桃下來，聞一聞，撲鼻馨香，心中大喜，一口吞而食之。方纔倚松靠石而坐，未及片時，忽然見楊戩仗劍而來。白猿欲待起身，竟不能起。不知食了此桃，將腰墜下，早被楊戩一把抓住頭皮，用縛妖索綑住，收了「山河社稷圖」，望正南謝了女媧娘娘，將白猿拎著，逕回周營而來。有詩單讚女媧娘娘授楊戩祕法，伏梅山七怪，詩曰：

Now, once Yuan Hong was on the Map of Mountains, Rivers and the Realm, it was like the endless wonders of the changes of the Four Images: think of a mountain and there was a mountain, think of water and there was water, think of going forward and he was forward, think of going back and he was back; and without knowing it, Yuan Hong turned back into his true form. Suddenly a gust of fragrant wind struck his nose, strangely sweet. The monkey climbed a tree to look, and saw a peach tree thick with green leaves swaying on either side, and hanging down from it a branch with an immortal peach, glowing red, its colour fresh and moist, tender and lovely. When the white ape saw it, he could not help longing for it; he climbed along the branches, pushed through the leaves, picked the immortal peach and brought it down. He sniffed it, and the fragrance filled his nose. Delighted, he swallowed it in one gulp. Then he sat down, leaning against a pine with his back to a rock. Before a moment had passed, he suddenly saw Yang Jian coming, sword in hand. The white ape tried to get up, but he could not rise. Little did he know that eating the peach had dragged his waist down; already Yang Jian had seized him by the scalp and bound him with the Demon-Binding Rope. Yang Jian put away the Map of Mountains, Rivers and the Realm, bowed his thanks to the goddess Nüwa toward the due south, and, carrying the white ape, went straight back to the Zhou camp. There is a poem in praise of the goddess Nüwa alone, who taught Yang Jian a secret art and so subdued the Seven Monsters of Mount Mei. It says:
