纯阳乐，不萧索，干干夕阳如胎鹤。回头拾取水中金，胜似潮州去驱鳄。
Pure yang rejoices, no longer forlorn: ever striving, wary at dusk, like the womb-born crane.Turn back and gather the gold in the water —better than going to Chaozhou to drive off the crocodile.

Cold and forlorn and all alone, with no road up to Heaven and no door down into the earth, he could only bolt the door tight and doze in the chair. He longed to get some sleep, but his heart was full of misery and dread, and in his ears there was moaning here and rumbling there, so that he kept getting up and lying down again — how could he close his eyes for a moment? So he made up a lyric on the spot, to the tune “The Clear River Song”, to while away the long night.
