話說華清風正要火燒陸通，濟公趕到。書中交代，濟公由古佛寺追走了華雲龍，和尚復返回去。掏了三塊藥，把飛天火祖秦元亮、立地瘟神馬兆熊、千里腿楊順三個人的鏢傷治好。這三個人給濟公行禮說：「多蒙師父救命之恩。未領教聖僧尊姓大名。」濟公通了名姓。這三個人說：「師父搭救我等再生，我等銘感五中。青山不改，綠水長流。他年相見，後會有期，我等必要報答。」濟公說：「你三個人去罷，我和尚還有事呢。」

Now, Hua Qingfeng was just about to burn Lu Tong alive when Ji Gong arrived. A word of explanation: after chasing Hua Yunlong away from Gufo Temple, the monk had gone back there. He took out three pieces of his medicine and healed the dart wounds of three men: Qin Yuanliang, the Flying Fire Patriarch; Ma Zhaoxiong, the Plague God on Earth; and Yang Shun, Thousand-Li Legs. The three men bowed to Ji Gong and said, “We owe you our lives, Master. May we ask the holy monk’s honoured name?” Ji Gong told them who he was. “Master,” the three men said, “you have given us a second life, and we will carry it engraved on our hearts. The green hills never change and the green waters flow on for ever. When we meet again some year, as we surely shall, we will repay you.” “Off you go, the three of you,” said Ji Gong. “This monk still has things to do.”
三個人千恩萬謝，告辭去了。和尚復又到廟內，把劉四放開，叫李劉氏跟他兄弟回家，妹弟二人謝了濟公走了。和尚叫本地官人報官，將古佛寺入官，另招住持僧人。濟公這才回鐵佛寺。來到寺裡一看，眾人正在埋怨和尚：「要不是和尚把大蟒趕走，大眾雖花些錢，可以把臌症治好。這一來，病人多的很，沒人治了。」濟公在鐵佛寺一聽這話，說：「眾位不必埋怨，我可以在這廟內捨聖水。有病的，只管來吃，吃了包好。」立刻派人挑了幾十擔水，倒了十大缸。和尚掏了十塊藥。放在水缸裡。
大眾聞這水，有一陣清香。大眾傳出去，和尚會聖水。
果然有臌症的，來此喝口水就好。不但治臌症，百病都得好，開化縣的黎民沒有不感激濟公的。次日和尚說：「我可不能看著捨水，我還有事呢。」這才回到巡檢司，叫四位班頭把馮元志送到開化縣。和尚來到開化縣，知縣鄭元龍立刻迎接濟公，進到書房，知縣說：「多蒙聖僧給我地面除害，搭救黎民，本是實深感激。」和尚說：「那倒是小事。」知縣說：「聖僧這是由哪裡來，這個賊人，是怎麼一段事？」和尚說：「這個賊人，是盜公文的。現在龍游縣還有一個賊，叫小神飛徐沛，跟那個賊是一案。我帶著這兩個班頭，楊國棟、尹士雄，就是龍游縣的原辦。求老爺辦一角文書，派幾個官人，把這個賊人解到龍游縣去完案。」知縣鄭元龍點頭應允。

大众闻这水，有一阵清香。大众传出去，和尚会圣水。

The three men thanked him a thousand times over, took their leave and went. The monk went back into the temple once more and untied Liu Si, and told Madam Li to go home with her brother. Sister and brother thanked Ji Gong and left. The monk had the local constables report to the authorities, so that Gufo Temple would be confiscated by the government and new monks invited to run it. Only then did Ji Gong go back to Tiefo Temple. When he got there and looked, everyone was grumbling about the monk: “If that monk hadn’t driven the great python away, we’d have had to spend some money, true, but the bloating sickness could have been cured. Now there are sick people all over the place, and nobody to cure them.” When Ji Gong heard this at Tiefo Temple, he said, “Don’t grumble, all of you. I can give out holy water free here in this temple. Anyone who’s ill, just come and drink it. Drink it and you’re sure to get well.” At once he had men carry in dozens of loads of water and fill ten big vats. The monk took out ten pieces of medicine and put them in the vats.
When the crowd smelled the water,there was a waft of sweet fragrance.The word went round the crowd:the monk has holy water.
Sure enough, anyone with the bloating sickness who came and drank a mouthful was cured. It cured not only the bloating sickness but every other ailment too, and among the common folk of Kaihua County there was no one who was not grateful to Ji Gong. The next day the monk said, “I can’t just stand here minding the water. I’ve other business.” Then he went back to the Patrol Office and had the four head constables take Feng Yuanzhi to Kaihua County. When the monk arrived at Kaihua County, Magistrate Zheng Yuanlong at once came out to meet Ji Gong and brought him into the study. “I am deeply grateful to you, holy monk,” said the magistrate, “for ridding my district of this scourge and saving the people.” “Oh, that’s a small matter,” said the monk. “Where have you come from this time, holy monk?” said the magistrate. “And what is the story of this thief?” “This thief is the one who stole the warrant,” said the monk. “In Longyou County there’s another thief, Xu Pei, the Little Divine Flier, who belongs to the same case. These two head constables I’ve brought along, Yang Guodong and Yin Shixiong, are the officers from Longyou County who had the case in the first place. I’d ask Your Honour to draw up a dispatch and send a few constables to escort this thief to Longyou County, so the case can be closed.” Magistrate Zheng Yuanlong nodded and agreed.
旁邊賊人馮元志一聽這話，心中一動。心說：「只要把我解了走，遍地是綠林的朋友，只要碰見，定可以把我救了。」他是心中的話，和尚答應了，說：「好東西。你心裡倒想的不錯。只要把你解了走，路上就有人奪了你去。我和尚更有主意。老爺，你叫人把黃土泥用水合了，把賊人的腦袋臉上都抹了，就給他留著眼睛、鼻子、嘴出氣，少得有人認得他。」知縣立刻辦了一角文書，派了四個解差，同尹士雄、楊國棟把賊人解走。
旁边贼人冯元志一听这话，心中一动。心说：「只要把我解了走，遍地是绿林的朋友，只要碰见，定可以把我救了。」他是心中的话，和尚答应了，说：「好东西。你心里倒想的不错。只要把你解了走，路上就有人夺了你去。我和尚更有主意。老爷，你叫人把黄土泥用水合了，把贼人的脑袋脸上都抹了，就给他留着眼睛、鼻子、嘴出气，少得有人认得他。」知县立刻办了一角文书，派了四个解差，同尹士雄、杨国栋把贼人解走。
Beside them, the thief Feng Yuanzhi heard this, and his heart stirred. He said to himself, “Once they march me off, there are greenwood friends everywhere. If we run into any of them, they’re sure to rescue me.” These were only words in his heart, but the monk answered them. “You fine thing! That’s not a bad idea you’ve got there. Once they march you off, there’ll be people on the road to snatch you away. Well, this monk has a better idea. Your Honour, have someone mix yellow earth with water and plaster it all over the villain’s head and face. Leave him just his eyes, nose and mouth to breathe through, and nobody will recognize him.” The magistrate at once drew up a dispatch and sent four escort officers to take the thief away, together with Yin Shixiong and Yang Guodong.
