Let it stay unspoken between the two of us. I’ll go and buy you some dishes.” “Off you go, then,” said the monk.

This man you have brought — what is he?” “Have someone keep an eye on him first, Your Honour,” said the monk. “We’ll question him in a little while.” His Honour gave the order at once: “Keep this man under guard.” His men answered. Then the monk said, “Old Chai, Old Du, congratulations to the pair of you! You’ve caught Hua Yunlong. The moment you get to Lin’an, that’s a reward of twelve hundred taels of silver. Congratulations, congratulations!” “Aren’t you glad, Master?” said Chai Yuanlu and Du Zhenying. “Thief,” said the monk, “what’s your name?” “My name is Hua Yunlong,” said the thief. The monk roared with laughter. “Hua, is it? The robbery at the Wanxing Pawnshop outside the south gate, with torches and drawn weapons, was led by Yun Fang, the Tousle-Headed Ghost, and with him were Han Xiu, the Peach-Blossom Rake; Yun Fei, the White Lotus Scholar; Wu Duoshao, Both-Hands-Part-the-Clouds (Shuangshou Fenyun); You Deheng, Looking-Down-at-Things (Ditou Kanwu); Li Meng, Cursing-the-Ringless-Earth; Chen Qing, Looking-Down-at-the-Pagoda; Cheng Zhiyuan, the Moon-Canopy Builder; He Dongfeng, the Tiger of the West Road; Chen Da, the Ravine-Leaping Tiger (Tiaojian Hu); and Yang Chun, the White-Flowered Snake: thirty-one men in all.
