話說小悟禪要上萬花山去拿邵華風。濟公知道他一去，必惹出一場大禍，一把手沒揪住，小悟禪一晃腦袋，出了常州府，來到萬花山下。腳著實地，堵著山前，破口大罵，說：「趁早把邵華風送出來，萬事皆休。如不送出來，和尚老爺殺上山去，把你們這些個外道天魔全結果了性命。大概你們這些魔崽子，也不是四造所生。」正說著話，巡山侍者過來說：「窮和尚，你無故在這裡罵誰呢？」悟禪說：「你趁早去告訴八魔，把邵華風送出來，萬事皆休。如要不然，我和尚殺上山去，全皆刀刀斬盡，劍劍誅絕。」巡山侍者說：「和尚，你是哪裡的，這樣大膽，敢來到萬花山這樣無禮？」悟禪說：「好小子，你大概也不知道和尚老爺的來歷。玉皇大帝是我拜兄，二郎楊戩是跟我住在一處，金吒、木吒、哪吒見我都要行禮。你告訴八魔叫他們出來，我和尚也不跟你們這些無名小輩較量。」

Now, Little Wuchan was set on going to Mount Wanhua to catch Shao Huafeng. Ji Gong knew that if he went he was bound to stir up a terrible disaster, but he grabbed for him and missed. Little Wuchan gave his head a shake, was out of Changzhou Prefecture, and came down at the foot of Mount Wanhua. Planting his feet firmly on the ground, he stood blocking the front of the mountain and cursed at the top of his voice: “Hand Shao Huafeng over, and quick, and we’ll call it quits. If you don’t, His Lordship the Monk will fight his way up the mountain and finish off the lot of you demons outside the true Way. My guess is you demon brats weren’t even born of the four births.” As he was speaking, the attendant on mountain patrol came over. “You beggarly monk,” he said, “who are you cursing here for no reason?” “Go and tell the Eight Demons, and quick,” said Wuchan, “to hand Shao Huafeng over, and we’ll call it quits. If not, this monk will fight his way up the mountain and cut down every last one of you, blade by blade and sword by sword.” “Monk,” said the attendant, “where are you from, that you’re bold enough to come to Mount Wanhua and behave like this?” “Well, my lad,” said Wuchan, “I don’t suppose you know who His Lordship the Monk is. The Jade Emperor is my sworn elder brother, Erlang, Yang Jian, lives in the same place as me, and Jinzha, Muzha and Nezha all have to bow when they see me. Tell the Eight Demons to come out. This monk isn’t going to trade blows with nobodies like you.”
巡山侍者一聽和尚這話大了，這才跑上山去，來到聖教堂。八魔臥雲居士靈霄，正同天河釣叟楊明遠、桂林樵夫王九峰、六合童子悚海在一處講論，要找濟公報仇，巡山侍者進來說：「回稟眾位魔師爺，山下來了一個窮和尚，堵著山下破口大罵，叫眾位魔師爺快將邵華風送出來，萬事皆休。如若不然，殺上山來殺個雞犬不留。」四位魔師一聽，氣得「哇呀呀」怪叫如雷！說：「好濟顛僧這樣大膽，竟敢這樣無禮，找到我的門上來，真欺我太甚。」正說著話，仙雲居士朱長元，白雲居士聘嘯，搬倒乾坤黨燕，登翻宇宙洪韜，四魔師也來了。問：「什麼事？」

When the attendant on mountain patrol heard how big the monk was talking, he ran up the mountain to Shengjiao Hall. Lingxiao, the Recluse Woyun, of the Eight Demons, was there with Yang Mingyuan, the Old Angler of the Milky Way, Wang Jiufeng, the Woodcutter of Guilin, and Songhai, the Boy of the Six Directions, talking over how to find Ji Gong and take revenge, when the attendant came in. “I beg to report, Demon Masters,” he said. “A beggarly monk has come to the foot of the mountain. He’s blocking the way below and cursing at the top of his voice. He says you Demon Masters had better send Shao Huafeng out quickly, and that will be the end of it. If not, he’ll fight his way up the mountain and kill till not a chicken or a dog is left.” When the four Demon Masters heard this, they were so furious that they roared like thunder: “Wa-ya-ya!” “That Crazy Ji has some nerve!” they said. “How dare he be so insolent as to come knocking at our very door? He’s pushing us too far.” As they were speaking, the other four Demon Masters arrived too: Zhu Changyuan, the Recluse Xianyun; Pin Xiao, the Recluse Baiyun; Dang Yan, the Upender of Heaven and Earth; and Hong Tao, the Overturner of the Universe. “What’s going on?” they asked.
巡山侍者沈瑞等又一述說，八位立刻各拉喪門劍，各背混元魔火幡，一跳出聖教堂，駕起風，下了萬花山，到山下一看，並沒有窮和尚。眾魔師口中喊嚷：「好顛僧，哪裡去了！」找了半天，蹤跡皆無。
巡山侍者沈瑞等又一述说，八位立刻各拉丧门剑，各背混元魔火幡，一跳出圣教堂，驾起风，下了万花山，到山下一看，并没有穷和尚。众魔师口中喊嚷：「好颠僧，哪里去了！」找了半天，踪迹皆无。
Shen Rui, the attendant on mountain patrol, and the others told the story once more, and at once all eight drew their Mourning Spirit Swords and slung their Primal Unity Demon-Fire Banners on their backs. They leapt out of Shengjiao Hall, rode the wind down Mount Wanhua and looked about at the foot of the mountain, but there was no beggarly monk at all. “Crazy monk!” the Demon Masters shouted. “Where have you got to?” They searched for a long while, but there was no trace of him.
