流水滔滔日夜磨，不知烏兔若奔梭。纔看苦海成平陸，又見滄桑化碧波。熊虎將軍餐白刃，英雄俊傑飲干戈。遲蚤只因天數定，空教血淚滴婆娑。

The flowing water rolls on, grinding day and night,and no one marks how the crow and the hare fly by like a shuttle.No sooner has the sea of bitterness become dry landthan the mulberry fields turn back into blue waves.Generals like bears and tigers feed on naked blades;heroes and men of mark drink of shield and spear.Sooner or later, all is fixed by Heaven’s reckoning;in vain do the tears of blood fall thick and fast.
話說廣成子三進碧遊宮，又來見通天教主，雙膝跪下。教主問曰：「廣成子，你為何又進我宮來？全無規矩，任你胡行！」廣成子曰：「蒙師叔分付，弟子去了；其如眾門人不放弟子去，只要與弟子併力。弟子之來，無非敬上之道；若是如此，弟子是求榮反辱。望老師慈悲發付弟子，也不壞師叔昔日三教共立『封神榜』的體面。」通天教主聽說，怒曰：「水火童子快把這些無知畜生喚進宮來！」只見水火童子領法旨出宮來，見眾門人，曰：「列位師兄，老爺發怒，喚你等進去。」眾門人聽師尊呼喚，大家沒意思，只得進宮來見。通天教主喝曰：「你這些不守規矩的畜生！如何師命不遵，恃強生事？這是何說！廣成子是我三教法旨扶助周武，這是應運而興。他等逆天行事，理當如此。你等如何還是這等胡為？情實可恨！」直罵得眾人們面面相覷，低頭不語。通天教主分付廣成子曰：「你只奉命而行，不要與這些人計較。你好生去罷！」廣成子謝過恩，出了宮，逕回九仙山去了。後有詩歎曰：
话说广成子三进碧游宫，又来见通天教主，双膝跪下。教主问曰：「广成子，你为何又进我宫来？全无规矩，任你胡行！」广成子曰：「蒙师叔分付，弟子去了；其如众门人不放弟子去，只要与弟子并力。弟子之来，无非敬上之道；若是如此，弟子是求荣反辱。望老师慈悲发付弟子，也不坏师叔昔日三教共立『封神榜』的体面。」通天教主听说，怒曰：「水火童子快把这些无知畜生唤进宫来！」只见水火童子领法旨出宫来，见众门人，曰：「列位师兄，老爷发怒，唤你等进去。」众门人听师尊呼唤，大家没意思，只得进宫来见。通天教主喝曰：「你这些不守规矩的畜生！如何师命不遵，恃强生事？这是何说！广成子是我三教法旨扶助周武，这是应运而兴。他等逆天行事，理当如此。你等如何还是这等胡为？情实可恨！」直骂得众人们面面相觑，低头不语。通天教主分付广成子曰：「你只奉命而行，不要与这些人计较。你好生去罢！」广成子谢过恩，出了宫，径回九仙山去了。后有诗叹曰：
Now, Guangchengzi entered the Palace of Azure Roaming for the third time, came before Tongtian, the Sect Master, once more, and went down on both knees. The Sect Master asked, “Guangchengzi, why have you come into my palace again? You have no manners at all — you do just as you please!” Guangchengzi said, “At your bidding, Uncle, your disciple left. But your disciples would not let me go; all they want is to join forces against me. I came here only to show the respect due to my elders. If it is to end like this, then I have sought honour and found disgrace. I beg you, Master, in your compassion, to send me on my way — and so not spoil the dignity of the day, Uncle, when the three teachings together set up the Investiture List.” When Tongtian, the Sect Master, heard this, he said in a rage, “Page boy Shuihuo, call these ignorant beasts into the palace at once!” The page boy Shuihuo received the sacred command, went out of the palace and said to the disciples, “Senior brothers, the Master is angry. He summons you in.” Hearing their master’s summons, the disciples all lost heart, but they had no choice but to go into the palace before him. Tongtian, the Sect Master, shouted at them, “You beasts who keep no rules! Why do you defy your master’s orders, and trust to your strength to stir up trouble? What is the meaning of this? Guangchengzi is helping King Wu of Zhou by the sacred command of our three teachings: he rises with the turn of fortune. Those others went against Heaven; it was only right that it ended so. Why do you still carry on so wildly? It is truly hateful!” He scolded them until they all stared at one another and hung their heads without a word. Then Tongtian, the Sect Master, told Guangchengzi, “Just do as you were commanded, and don’t quarrel with these people. Go now, and take care!” Guangchengzi thanked him for his kindness, left the palace and went straight back to Mount Jiuxian. There is a poem that marvels at it:
廣成奉旨涉先天，只為金霞冠欲還。不是天心原有意，界牌關下有「誅仙」。
話說通天教主曰：「姜尚乃是奉吾三教法旨，扶佐應運帝王。這三教中都有在『封神榜』上的。廣成子也是犯教之仙。他就打死火靈聖母，非是他來尋事做；這是你去尋他。總是天意。爾等何苦與他做對？連我的訓諭不依，成何體面！」眾門人未及開言，只見多寶道人跪下稟曰：「老師聖諭，怎敢不依？只是廣成子太欺吾教，妄自尊大他的玉虛教法，辱詈我等不堪，老師那裏知道？到把他一面虛詞當做真話，被他欺誑過了。」通天教主曰：「『紅花白藕青荷葉，三教原來總一般。』他豈不知，怎敢亂話欺弄。你等切不可自分彼此，致生事端。」多寶道人曰：「老師在上：弟子原不敢說，只今老師不知詳細，事已至此，不得不以直告。他罵吾教是左道傍門，『不分披毛帶角之人，濕生卵化之輩，皆可同群共處。』他視我為無物，獨稱他玉虛道法為『無上至尊』，所以弟子等不服也。」通天教主曰：「我看廣成子亦是真實君子，斷無是言。你們不要錯聽了。」多寶道人曰：「弟子怎敢欺誑老師！」眾門人齊曰：「實有此語。這都可以面質。」通天教主笑曰：「我與羽毛相並，他師父卻是何人？我成羽毛，他師父也是羽毛之類。這畜生這等輕薄！」分付金靈聖母：「往後邊取那四口寶劍來。」少時，金靈聖母取一包袱，內有四口寶劍，放在案上。教主曰：「多寶道人過來，聽我分付：他既笑我教不如，你可將此四口寶劍去界牌關擺一誅仙陣，看闡教門下那一個門人敢進吾陣！如有事時，我自來與他講。」多寶道人請問老師：「此劍有何妙用？」通天教主曰：「此劍有四名：一曰『誅仙劍』，二曰『戮仙劍』，三曰『陷仙劍』，四曰『絕仙劍』。此劍倒懸門上，發雷震動，劍光一愰，任從他是萬劫神仙，也難逃此難。昔曾有讚，讚此寶劍，讚曰：

Guangcheng, by command, crossed into the Former Heaven,only to give back the Golden Glow Crown.Was it not Heaven’s own design from the first,that below Jiepai Pass should stand the “Immortal-Slaying”?
Now, Tongtian, the Sect Master, said, “Jiang Shang acts by the sacred command of our three teachings, to help the emperor and king who rises with the turn of fortune. In all three teachings there are those whose names stand on the Investiture List. Guangchengzi, too, is an immortal who has broken the precept. If he killed Holy Mother Huoling, it was not he who went looking for trouble; it was you who went looking for him. It is all the will of Heaven. Why must you set yourselves against him? You won’t even follow my instructions — what kind of dignity is that?” Before the disciples could speak, the Daoist Duobao knelt down and said, “Master, how would we dare disobey your sacred instructions? It is only that Guangchengzi has insulted our sect beyond bearing. He boasts of his teaching of Jade Emptiness and reviles us past all endurance — how could you know, Master? Yet you take his one-sided, empty words for the truth, and he has deceived you.” Tongtian, the Sect Master, said, “‘Red flower, white lotus root, green lotus leaf: the three teachings were one from the start.’ Surely he knows that. How would he dare talk such nonsense and make a fool of me? You must never set yourselves apart from one another and so stir up trouble.” The Daoist Duobao said, “Master, I would never have dared speak of it. But now, since you do not know the details, and things have come to this, I have no choice but to tell you plainly. He calls our sect crooked ways and side doors, ‘where it makes no difference whether you wear fur or horns, whether you were born of moisture or hatched from eggs — all may flock together and live as one.’ He treats us as nothing, and calls only his own Jade Emptiness teaching ‘supreme and most honoured.’ That is why we will not accept it.” Tongtian, the Sect Master, said, “As I see it, Guangchengzi is an honest gentleman. He would never say such things. Don’t believe what you have misheard.” The Daoist Duobao said, “How would your disciple dare deceive you, Master?” The disciples all said together, “He really did say it. We can all confront him face to face.” Tongtian, the Sect Master, laughed. “If I am to be ranked with the feathered kind, then what is his master? If I am a bird, his master is of the feathered kind too. The beast — how insolent he is!” He told Holy Mother Jinling, “Go to the back and fetch those four precious swords.” A little later Holy Mother Jinling brought out a bundle with four precious swords inside and set it on the table. The Sect Master said, “Daoist Duobao, come here and listen to my orders. Since he laughs at my sect as the lesser, take these four precious swords to Jiepai Pass and set up an Immortal-Slaying Formation, and we shall see which of the disciples of the Exposition Sect dares to enter my formation! If anything comes of it, I will come and have it out with him myself.” The Daoist Duobao asked his master, “What wondrous powers do these swords have?” Tongtian, the Sect Master, said, “These swords have four names: the first is the ‘Immortal-Slaying Sword,’ the second the ‘Immortal-Killing Sword,’ the third the ‘Immortal-Trapping Sword,’ and the fourth the ‘Immortal-Annihilating Sword.’ Hang these swords upside down over the gates; when thunder shakes them and the sword-light flashes, even an immortal of ten thousand kalpas will hardly escape this doom. There was once a verse in praise of these precious swords. It says:
