話說濟公禪師把白狗叫過來，把四個火燒給白狗吃了，白狗搖頭擺尾，前躥後跳。和尚找花轎娶拿紅頭繩、白粉、兩個耳兜拴上，又用紅頭繩把白狗的嘴一系，拿胭脂粉臉上一抹，把裙衫短襖給白狗一穿，把紅繡鞋給白狗後爪一穿，和尚口念：「唵嘛呢叭迷吽！」用手一抹白狗的臉，和尚說：
「遍體白毛烏嘴，搖頭擺尾發威。晝防門戶夜防偷，主人寒苦不悔。好犬不亂吠，今夜同入香閨。貧僧點化你變蛾眉，要你報應花花太歲。」

Now, Chan Master Ji Gong called the white dog over and fed it the four flatbreads, and the white dog wagged its head and tail and went bounding back and forth. The monk took the red yarn and white powder, tied a pair of ear-covers over its ears, and bound the white dog’s muzzle shut with the red yarn. He smeared rouge and powder over its face, put the skirt, gown and short jacket on the white dog, and put the red embroidered shoes on its hind paws. Then the monk chanted, “Om mani padme hum!” and passed his hand over the white dog’s face. The monk said,
“White fur all over and a muzzle black as night,wagging head and tail, you’re spoiling for a fight.By day you guard the gate, by night you watch for thieves;your master’s cold and poor, and still you never grieve.A good dog never barks at every sound;tonight to a perfumed bower you are bound.This poor monk turns you into a moth-browed belle:go pay back the Flashy Libertine, and pay him well.”
和尚用法術點化了白狗。趙斌、梅成玉再一看，白狗坐在那裡，真是變了一個千嬌百媚的美人，趙斌、梅成玉二人喜出望外。趙斌先去到錢塘關把船雇好，回來同和尚開懷暢飲，直喝到天有掌燈以後，只聽外面鼓樂喧天，花轎來了。

By his magic the monk transformed the white dog. When Zhao Bin and Mei Chengyu looked again, there sat the white dog, truly changed into a beauty of a thousand charms and a hundred graces, and Zhao Bin and Mei Chengyu were overjoyed beyond all hope. Zhao Bin first went to the Qiantang Gate and hired the boat, then came back and drank with the monk to their hearts’ content. They drank on until after the lamps were lit, when they heard music and drums outside loud enough to shake the sky: the bridal chair had come.
書中交代：陸炳文給梅成玉派人送了銀子去，隨後他坐轎拿著美人圖，到王勝仙家去。一見王勝仙，陸炳文說：「老師大喜！」王勝仙自從火燒了合歡樓，他只當把美人燒死，心中實深想念，並無一刻忘懷，煩的了不得。

He pined for her deeply; not for one moment could he forget her, and he was miserable beyond words.
