In the district of Zhending there was an orphan girl, only six or seven years old, who was taken in to be raised by her husband’s family. When she had lived with them a year or two, her husband lured her into intercourse, and she became pregnant. Her belly swelled, and thinking it was an illness, she told her mother-in-law. “Does it move?” the mother-in-law asked. “It moves,” said the girl. The mother-in-law was all the more puzzled. But the girl was so young that she dared not be sure. Before long, the girl gave birth to a boy. The mother-in-law sighed. “Who would have thought it? A mother the size of a fist, and she has borne a son the size of an awl.”
