Ziya goes back, for the first time, to the Jade Capital;far off he sees the jade towers where the fragrant mists part.Green waters wash away the dreams of the mortal world;blue hills wear down the talents of emperors and kings.Soldiers and people in peril, shields and spears astir;generals and men beset by woes, harried by strange arts.But the Investiture is fixed by the will of Heaven,so to Mount Qi he must go to raise a new terrace.
話說哪吒一乾坤圈把張桂芳左臂打得筋斷骨折，馬上愰了三四愰，不曾閃下馬來。哪吒得勝進城。探馬報入相府。令：「哪吒來見。」子牙問曰：「與張桂芳見陣，勝負如何？」哪吒曰：「被弟子乾坤圈打傷左臂，敗進營裏去了。」子牙又問：「可曾叫你名字？」哪吒曰：「桂芳連叫三次，弟子不曾理他罷了。」眾將不知其故。──但凡精血成胎者，有三魂七魄，被桂芳叫一聲，魂魄不居一體，散在各方，自然落馬；哪吒乃蓮花化身，渾身俱是蓮花，那裏有三魂七魄，故此不得叫下輪來。

Now, Nezha’s Heaven-and-Earth Ring had struck Zhang Guifang on the left arm, snapping sinew and breaking bone. He swayed three or four times in the saddle, but he did not fall from his horse. Nezha went back into the city in victory. Scouts brought the news to the chancellor’s residence. The order: “Nezha to come before me.” Ziya asked, “You met Zhang Guifang in battle. Who won?” Nezha said, “Your disciple’s Heaven-and-Earth Ring wounded his left arm, and he fled back into his camp.” Ziya asked again, “Did he call your name?” Nezha said, “Guifang called it three times running. Your disciple just paid him no attention, that’s all.” None of the generals understood why. (Every creature conceived from essence and blood has three hun and seven po. When Guifang called a man’s name, his hun and po could no longer stay together in one body but scattered every which way, and of course he fell from his horse. But Nezha was a body made of lotus, lotus through and through: where were any three hun and seven po in him? That is why he could not be called down from his wheels.)

Now, Zhang Guifang’s left arm was wounded, and his vanguard officer Feng Lin had been wounded too and could not get about. There was nothing for it but to send an officer with an urgent dispatch to Zhaoge, to ask Grand Preceptor Wen for help. But no more of that.
