There had never been any mountains along the shore. One day, all at once, steep ridges were seen rising one behind another, running on for a mile or more. Everyone was alarmed and amazed. Another day, the mountains suddenly moved off somewhere else and vanished into nothing. It is said that the great fish of the sea, when the Qingming festival comes round, take their families to pay their respects at their graves, which is why they are so often seen at the time of the Cold Food Festival.
